User Review: Okay, this is the chapter that makes me go "WTF?" several times over. Starting with "where the heck ARE we?" Eastern seaboard port with a "mild climate" (per Emma the previous chapter) with deciduous plants but occasional pines, a port large enough to have one of the few Jones factors in the States but small enough to have no suburbs (so you can easily run into the forest outside of town). I would say that has to be Charleston except for the hilly countryside and Emma was looking out across open sea, not the sound -- and I am pretty sure it had suburbs in the 1890s. Nantuckett? (only, "mild"? not to mention, where was there any signifant direct importing through there?)

Plus, yanno, the heaping coincidence of finding her. But that I could accept if the events were grounded, the way they are back in England. It is like, for these two chapters, we have jumped off the map into Fairyland or something.
